It came two years after they formally separated and just days before their 13th wedding anniversary.
Courteney has also reportedly asked to drop her former flame's last name.

When asked by TMZ whether she was surprised about Arquette serving the divorce papers, the Cougar Town star laughed and replied in a sarcastic tone: 'He did? Oh my god, I didn't know.'
Both parties cited irreconcilable differences when filing their respective papers.
